If you have not been convinced of the value of Twitter for advertising your local business so far then TweetWagon.com has given you a compelling reason to reconsider.

TweetWagon.com works hand in hand with your Twitter account. It allows your business to be found in a local directory format. Your business’s profile page showcases how many followers you currently have, what your most recent “#localdeal” is, your last ten tweets, a brief description of your business, the address of your business (with a pop-up map), and a link to your website.

Below we have listed the top ten reasons we think every local business should be using Twitter. More and more businesses who already use Twitter are signing up with TweetWagon.com.

While many businesses have figured out that using Twitter is a good advertising move, they still struggle to know how to use their account, what to tweet about, and how to get followers. TweetWagon.com helps businesses get more followers interested in thier good deals.

We will be offering tools in the near future that will assist businesses in maximizing their Twitter account in several ways including scheduled tweets, advice on what to tweet about, a special feature of your business on your local TweetWagon homepage, tools to manage your follower/following list, and the ability to searc for Twitters users using specific search criteria.

Some businesses may be wondering what the basic benefits of using Twitter are. What does a business gain by regularly spending time to manage a Twitter account? We’re glad you asked…

    1. It’s the place to be…Twitter has millions of users, most of which are consumers eager to find good deals. TweetWagon provides a place that funnles consumers to you.

    2. Time to cut costs…Twitter is free to set up. Sure it takes time to keep your account current. But it allows you to be in control of your own marketing while staying modern. It could take as little as ten to fifteen minutes to update your account every day. TweetWagon reduces the time you need to spend to get followers by showing them you exist. We do some of your work for you.

    3. Keep it simple…People often are not willing to give out their personal information such as mailing address or email address. Twitter solves this by making it simple and worry-free for people to follow you because they never need to give up their personal information. Once they follow you on Twitter they will automatically get your updates (tweets). You can even send direct messages.

    4. Don’t spam–Advertise…We know that businesses must advertise to survive. However, often times, the public perceives online advertising as spam. How do you get those online advertisements to be taken seriously? On Twitter you can send out multiple tweets per week and not be accused of spamming because your followers have already chosen to follow you. Try that with email! TweetWagon even has a feature where consumers can post a “fan Tweet” about your business if they so choose.

    5. Why wait?…Make it happen fast!–In this day and age things worth knowing about spread virally. Twitter makes “viral” word-of-mouth advertising happen automatically. When you get followers, all the followers of your followers see it publicly and many will also want to follow you. (You’re essentially a “friend of a friend”.) When you post a great offer, your followers will often “re-tweet” it to their followers. Again the “fan” feature on Twitter spreads enthusiasm about your business.

    6. Keep it simple!…Twitter is full of consumers who are already looking for deals. This means that you don’t have to create consumer interest; they are there waiting for you to show your stuff. With TweetWagon you can use a hashtag called #localdeal with all your Twitter exclusive discounts and deals and it will show up on your profile page. We showcase the deals you offer to the public.

    7. Local! Local! Local!..Local businesses can’t succeed without affordable, local advertising. As more people join, Twitter is becoming a reliable means of communicating with a substantial amount of your local customer base. The “local” effect is now fully realized with TweetWagon.com. We divide businesses into local geographic regions.

    8. The inside scoop!…By using Twitter you go from trying to get people to care that you exist to people proud they know about your deals before the rest of the public. People like being the first to know about deals. By giving your consumers a feeling they are the first to know, they are more prone to spread this knowledge with their friends.

    9. A Two way street…When you advertise on Twitter you can build relationships with prospects using chat-like, interactive features… it’s not just one-way advertising like other marketing channels. Again TweetWagon is used as a tool to bring followers who don’t you exist to your Twitter account.

    10. “Pop Culture”…Twitter is the fastest growing and most popular method to network in the world. TweetWagon is growing fast, with more businesses signing up every day. By using Twitter and TweetWagon together, you are demonstrating you’re on the cutting edge and not some out-dated, behind-the-times venture.

Make it happen now! TweetWagon can give you something no other website can give you…A one-stop directory that will lead your local customer base to your Twitter account.
For those who are new to using Twitter to advertise locally we have created a Twitter quickstart guide to help you get started. (www.TweetWagon.com/quickstart)

TweetWagon.com is a local directory of businesses who are advertising on Twitter. You may be thinking, “What does that mean to me?” Good question.

It is becoming more and more popular, and even recommended, for a local business to offer significant discounts and deals exclusively to it’s Twitter followers. There are more and more success stories of businesses using this simple ad model. This is like gold for consumers.

We all know that when companies have to compete for your business their products get better and their prices get lower. Hence free market capitalism. So the more you demand your favorite local business advertise on Twitter the more you will see better deals and discounts when they see these deals are effective.

TweetWagon.com is listing more businesses everyday. How can you benefit from our service though?

Here are 5 keys to keep money in your pocket with our website:

    1. Visit TweetWagon.com regularly to see what new businesses are on there trying to get your business with noteworthy Twitter exclusive deals.

You may visit your local TweetWagon site one day and see a certain number of businesses, but the next day there will probably be new businesses on there. It is worth the two minutes you give it if you end up netting a nice sum of savings each week. Keep in mind that the more you visit the site the more businesses will want to be listed there.

    2. Tell every business you visit that you want to see them listed on our site or advertising with us. Tell them every time you visit them. The more they hear what you want the more they will be prone to give it to you. Even if they refuse to use Twitter they can sign up with us at a low cost so we can advertise their deals on our local TweetWagon Twitter account like Twitter.com/TweetWagonRDU (for the Raleigh/Durham area).

    3. Tell your friends to visit TweetWagon regularly.

    4. Email TweetWagon.com to tell us what you want. We would love to hear from you if there is a favorite local business of yours that you would like to advertise with us. When you tell us your demands, we are armed with a lot of influence and pull to effectively recruit the business to give you good deals through us.

    5. When you give a business patronage because you found a good deal via our TweetWagon site then let the business know that their listing with us was effective. This motivates them to keep their #localdeal activity at a high level, which is good for you.

Well there you have it! Those are five things you can do to save more money through TweetWagon.com. Thanks for checking us out and we hope you enjoy the ride.

It is no surprise that there will be some critical areas to tweak as we set out on the road to local business marketing. And we have found some issues that we plan to fix or add in the next forty eight hours.

We have discovered that our sign-up process for local businesses is not clear enough. Because of this businesses are not getting the greatest impact possible when they invite their followers to visit their new profile page. What we are finding many local businesses missing is that once they tweet a link to their profile page they are then not realizing they still have to return to our site and finalize the registration process before the page is visible to the public. We are in the process of fixing this right at this very moment. The sign-up process should be easier by the end of the night.

One feature we will be adding this week (hopefully) is the ability for a large chain company like Starbucks or Meijer to upload individual pages for each of their stores across the country. This will bring increased value to the service as a whole because local customers in each of the locations of that company will be able to see local deals for that company no matter where they exist. We are very excited about adding this feature!

A feature we will be adding soon is the ability for consumers in any zip code to visit a zip code specific page to see all the deals without having to register with us. This should invite more consumers to the site who don’t feel like messing with officially registering with us. (Even though registering requires minimal information and almost no hassle, we understand there are those out there who still are unwilling. We want to serve them too.)

Another feature we need to fix is the clarity of the importance of #localdeal. We have designed the business profile page idea off of the concept that consumers can recognize specific deals worthy of their notice because those deals contain #localdeal hashtag. But we currently have little in place to clearly explain to the businesses who sign up of the importance of using this hashtag.

Since we have launched we have found many local businesses eager to register with us. We believe the local business marketing world has a strong thirst for a service such as this. And that includes consumers. Consumers are itchin for a place they can go to find all the best deals for whatever they are looking to buy. That is what we offer.

Our site still needs tweaking and adding, but we are on the road and changing local marketing.

  • The TweetWagon is on the Local Business Road....We Have Launched!

TweetWagon exists to connect local consumers with local businesses. We exist to utilize the local potential of Twitter. We are jumping out of our seats wanting to tell you how valuable a tool we are building at http://tweetwagon.com. I say we are still building it because we still have more features we will be offering in the future like the ability for a business to pay to be featured on the homepage of their zip code. But our concept is functional and we now have businesses signing up with us every day.

We had some rough spots with our launch date. We had been scheduled to launch on June 1st. However, that date came and went as we realized there were some valuable features that we still needed to add to the site. Our site is now up and running and working great. My favorite part of the homepage is the Latest Local Businesses box on the right which features the ten most recent local businesses that listed on our site. The site ultimately is for consumers though.

Consumers can register with us and have their own localized (according to zip code) page that lists all businesses tweeting local deals who are listed with us. So if you don’t see a business listed that you would like to be listed then you will have to ask them to check us out.

We will be adding a feature to the site soon where a consumer can register a business and the business will have an “unverified” status until they sign in to switch the status to “verified”. We will be adding a couple more features as well that will make the site more user friendly and valuable both to the consumer and the business.

Please feel free to contact us with advice about how to improve the site’s image and functionality. We value your opinion. But for now, we are up and rolling. This is one wagon that won’t be breaking any axles. Jump on board and enjoy the ride.
