It is no surprise that there will be some critical areas to tweak as we set out on the road to local business marketing. And we have found some issues that we plan to fix or add in the next forty eight hours.

We have discovered that our sign-up process for local businesses is not clear enough. Because of this businesses are not getting the greatest impact possible when they invite their followers to visit their new profile page. What we are finding many local businesses missing is that once they tweet a link to their profile page they are then not realizing they still have to return to our site and finalize the registration process before the page is visible to the public. We are in the process of fixing this right at this very moment. The sign-up process should be easier by the end of the night.

One feature we will be adding this week (hopefully) is the ability for a large chain company like Starbucks or Meijer to upload individual pages for each of their stores across the country. This will bring increased value to the service as a whole because local customers in each of the locations of that company will be able to see local deals for that company no matter where they exist. We are very excited about adding this feature!

A feature we will be adding soon is the ability for consumers in any zip code to visit a zip code specific page to see all the deals without having to register with us. This should invite more consumers to the site who don’t feel like messing with officially registering with us. (Even though registering requires minimal information and almost no hassle, we understand there are those out there who still are unwilling. We want to serve them too.)

Another feature we need to fix is the clarity of the importance of #localdeal. We have designed the business profile page idea off of the concept that consumers can recognize specific deals worthy of their notice because those deals contain #localdeal hashtag. But we currently have little in place to clearly explain to the businesses who sign up of the importance of using this hashtag.

Since we have launched we have found many local businesses eager to register with us. We believe the local business marketing world has a strong thirst for a service such as this. And that includes consumers. Consumers are itchin for a place they can go to find all the best deals for whatever they are looking to buy. That is what we offer.

Our site still needs tweaking and adding, but we are on the road and changing local marketing.

TweetWagon exists to connect local consumers with local businesses. We exist to utilize the local potential of Twitter. We are jumping out of our seats wanting to tell you how valuable a tool we are building at http://tweetwagon.com. I say we are still building it because we still have more features we will be offering in the future like the ability for a business to pay to be featured on the homepage of their zip code. But our concept is functional and we now have businesses signing up with us every day.

We had some rough spots with our launch date. We had been scheduled to launch on June 1st. However, that date came and went as we realized there were some valuable features that we still needed to add to the site. Our site is now up and running and working great. My favorite part of the homepage is the Latest Local Businesses box on the right which features the ten most recent local businesses that listed on our site. The site ultimately is for consumers though.

Consumers can register with us and have their own localized (according to zip code) page that lists all businesses tweeting local deals who are listed with us. So if you don’t see a business listed that you would like to be listed then you will have to ask them to check us out.

We will be adding a feature to the site soon where a consumer can register a business and the business will have an “unverified” status until they sign in to switch the status to “verified”. We will be adding a couple more features as well that will make the site more user friendly and valuable both to the consumer and the business.

Please feel free to contact us with advice about how to improve the site’s image and functionality. We value your opinion. But for now, we are up and rolling. This is one wagon that won’t be breaking any axles. Jump on board and enjoy the ride.

    TweetWagon gaining steam

    TweetWagon gaining steam

You will be able to find local businesses tweeting local deals soon! Our new local business directory is launching within 36 hours from now and we couldn’t be more excited! We hope you visit our site early and often. We hope you tell your friends about our site. But most of all…We hope you end up saving a lot of money on our site. Because when you are saving money, that means we are making money.

I want to list three reasons why we believe TweetWagon should be a household name. Many people have not yet warmed up to Twitter. We hope to be the highway that draws them in. TweetWagon will help businesses gain popularity and make money. TweetWagon will help consumers more regularly save money at their favorite places to spend it. TweetWagon will bring more value to Twitter.

I will deal with my second point mentioned above first. TweetWagon will help consumers more regularly save money at their favorite places to spend it.

Actually this statement is incomplete. I need to add that we will also help consumers find new places to save money as they spend it. As we grow (with your help) we will be listing more and more local businesses across the country that will find that advertising exclusive Twitter deals locally is an effective marketing tool. The more you respond to their Twitter deals, the more they will enthusiastically embrace the idea of offering you good deals. So as you benefit you benefit more. By searching in your local area for businesses trying to earn your patronage such as florists, paper companies, spas, shoe stores, restaurants, grocery stores, dry cleaners, and mechanics, you will not only find good deals which will save you money, but you will also become aware of new businesses that you may have never known about before. This is good for you and your local economy.

TweetWagon will help businesses gain popularity and make money. I can’t stress this point enough. It is not only free to get a basic listing on TweetWagon, but it will benefit your company greatly. How else will you make the local public aware of you and tell their friends about your quality service and products. Consumers will visit our site looking for you. You will be there waiting to have them follow you so you can offer them deals exclusive to those following you on Twitter. This will generate new customers and a local buzz about your business. When you advertise on Twitter alone you may or may not be found by those who matter most-your local customer base. But by listing with Tweetwagon, your customer base will come to you by coming to us looking for you. We automatically include a link they can click to take them to your Twitter account to follow you. We can get them to you, the rest is up to you.

TweetWagon will bring more value to Twitter. Currently, Twitter is a great public resource for anyone to use. More and more businesses are finding that Twitter is a great place to market themselves. But there is still an undefined future, purpose, and direction to Twitter. With the emergence of TweetWagon Twitter will gain an aspect of purpose and direction to the business marketing part of its users. The more consumers and businesses meet on TweetWagon, the more they will interact on Twitter.

Our site has been under construction for over a month. But the launch date is a day away. We are hitting the trail rolling. We hope you jump on the TweetWagon. We launch at the end of June 1.
